Growing & care

Spreads by rhizome to form a low colony; give it room or edge it in. Cut back hard after frost. Tolerates poor soil and drought once established.

Look for gregg's mistflower (Conoclinium greggii) at: native Texas nurseries, Prairie Moon Nursery.

Buying nursery-propagated natives — never collected from the wild — keeps wild populations intact. Ask any seller where their stock comes from.
